Hi Parents of room 203!
Welcome back...I hope you have a great week and let's always keep in mind that this blog is a great way to keep track of what your scholars are doing this week and weeks to come!
A Peek at Our Academic Week
Sept. 10th, 2012
Math: Scholars will address problem solving skills, taking apart numbers, pictographs, review two digit addition/subtraction and much more.
Reading: Scholars have been work on word sorts. Word Sorts are a strategy for examining and categorizing words according to their meanings. The purpose of word sorts is to help students focus on conceptual and phonological features of words and identify recurring patterns. For homework scholars will need to fill out the daily reading response sheet. This is to ensure they are reading with purpose.
Writing: Scholars will do Narrative writing pieces.
Social Studies: Scholars will begin learning about history and geography with a specific focus on Ancient Rome.
Shining scholar!
Ashanee is always willing to participate and shows great scholarly behavior daily. Way to go Ashanee!
- School is in session! LEARN Charter schools will remain open in the event there is a Chicago Teachers Union strike. We are not part of the dispute.
